Mechanical Permit

A mechanical permit authorizes work on a building's mechanical systems — heating and cooling equipment, boilers, exhaust and ventilation, refrigeration, and similar. Many jurisdictions use "mechanical" as the umbrella that includes HVAC; others split them, which is why PermitStack keeps both categories.
