Data Freshness Status

What does this mean? Two different things are shown here and they are not the same. Data through is the date of the newest permit we actually hold, and it is what the Status column judges: Current means under 45 days old, Lagging under a year, Stale a year or more. Last polled is simply when our ingestion last ran against the source (nightly at 03:00 UTC) — a source that has stopped publishing still gets polled every night, so a recent poll on its own is no evidence the data is current. Historical archive rows are sources whose upstream feeds have gone dark — we keep the records for research but they don't refresh by design.

Access blocked (275). These sources sit behind one vendor's network filter, which has returned HTTP 403 to our requests since 18 August 2026. The Status column still reports how old the data actually is, because that is the honest answer and a block does not make records newer. What the badge adds is the reason: this is our access being refused, not a city that stopped publishing, and we cannot see past the block to tell you which. We re-test these hosts and the day one lifts, it resumes.
