PermitStack System Alerts (SMS)

Last updated: October 12, 2026

PermitStack System Alerts is an automated text message program run by PermitStack (permit-stack.com), a building permit data API sold to businesses by subscription. PermitStack is a sole proprietorship owned by Daniel Pfledderer, registered as Permit Stack. Its own monitoring, backup, billing and scheduled-job software sends one-way alerts to PermitStack's owner and operator when something in the PermitStack service needs attention.

Who receives these messages

Only PermitStack's owner and operator, who runs the service and is on call for it. Only the operator's own mobile number can complete enrollment. Customers, API users and website visitors are never enrolled. PermitStack never sends text messages to its customers, and (754) 260-1306 is never used to call or text a customer. We contact customers by email.

(754) 260-1306 is not a customer support line, and customers cannot reach PermitStack by text message. The number serves only PermitStack's owner and operator: texts from any other number get no reply except the standard keyword replies described below, and calls from any other number are declined. For support, email support@permit-stack.com.

How to opt in

Text START to (754) 260-1306, then reply Y to confirm, to receive PermitStack System Alerts, one-way automated alerts about the PermitStack service. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

This program is only for PermitStack's owner and operator. PermitStack is a sole proprietorship owned by Daniel Pfledderer, registered as Permit Stack. Only the operator's own mobile number can complete enrollment.

The opt-in text exchange

Opting in takes two texts from the operator's own mobile phone (double opt-in). These are the exact messages sent back and forth:

  1. The operator texts this to (754) 260-1306:
    START
  2. PermitStack replies:
PermitStack System Alerts: automated service alerts for PermitStack's owner and operator only. If that is you, reply Y to confirm. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Terms: https://permit-stack.com/terms.html Privacy: https://permit-stack.com/privacy.html
  3. The operator replies:
    Y
  4. PermitStack replies:
PermitStack System Alerts: you are now subscribed to recurring automated alerts about the PermitStack service from Permit Stack. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Terms: https://permit-stack.com/terms.html Privacy: https://permit-stack.com/privacy.html

No alert is sent before step 4. Steps 1 and 3 are logged with the number and time as the record of consent. PermitStack's software sends steps 2 and 4 only to the operator's number; the one automatic exception is described in the next section.

Texts and calls from other numbers

PermitStack's software never texts or replies to any other number. Another number that texts the program gets only the standard keyword replies: the STOP confirmation, the HELP reply, and, if it texts START or another re-subscribe keyword, the step 2 text. These are the standard keyword replies that carriers require, and our messaging provider, Twilio, sends them automatically to any number; the STOP and HELP replies are shown below and the step 2 text above.

A text from any other number is logged and gets no reply from PermitStack's software, and a Y from any other number enrolls nothing. Calls from any number other than the operator's are declined.

When a text is sent

The program is one-way. A text is sent only when one of these events occurs:

Message frequency varies with these events. There are no marketing, promotional or bulk messages, and daily summaries are sent by email, not by text. Messages never contain a customer's name, email address or other personal data.

Example messages

Values in [brackets] change with each alert.

PermitStack: API health check failing. The last [3] checks of the PermitStack API returned errors, starting at [14:05] UTC. Reply STOP to opt out.
PermitStack: The nightly database backup failed at [07:42] UTC and no new backup was saved. Reply STOP to opt out.
PermitStack: [3] overnight data import jobs failed: [job names]. Reply STOP to opt out.
PermitStack: Billing alert. [1] subscription payment failed in the last hour. Details are in the billing dashboard. Reply STOP to opt out.
PermitStack: [2] customer support emails are waiting for a reply in the support inbox. Reply STOP to opt out.

Replies

Alerts do not ask for a reply, and the program does not answer questions or commands by text. The only replies it acts on are START (then Y to confirm) to opt in, STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Any other reply is logged and gets no answer.

How to opt out or get help

Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE or OPTOUT) at any time to stop all messages. You receive this one confirmation and nothing after it:

PermitStack System Alerts: you are unsubscribed and will receive no further messages. Reply START to resubscribe.

To resubscribe, the operator texts START again and confirms with Y, as above. Reply HELP (or INFO) at any time for this reply:

PermitStack System Alerts: automated alerts about the PermitStack service for PermitStack's owner and operator. Help: support@permit-stack.com. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

Our messaging provider sends these two replies automatically to any number that texts one of these keywords. For anything else, email support@permit-stack.com.
